We're coming to Park City, Utah, and we're excited to explore creative storytelling, photography, and hiking with you in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains during our 4th annual Writer’s Retreat. For 4 days and 3 nights, we’ll help you refine your craft and build community with other writers and creatives.

Our retreat runs Monday, June 2, at 12 p.m.-Thursday, June 5, 2 p.m.

Inclusions: 

  •  Three, 3-hour writing workshops

  •  One, 2-hour mobile photography class

  •  Writers can submit up to 40 pages of work (double-spaced, max 10,000 words) and will receive line edits, written feedback and discussion of it

  • One, half-hour, one-on-one conference with Laura 

  • Four lunches, three dinners and one welcome cocktail

  • Guided hikes

  • Nightly opportunity to share new work over dinner during informal “open mics” 

  • Transportation from Canyon Village hotels to and from the writing workshop location

Exclusions: 

  • Olympic Park Tour fee 

  •  Alcohol (after our welcome drink) 

  •  Lodging (if you need lodging, please reserve a room at one of the Canyons Village hotels.

Laura Zinn Fromm, founder of Sweet Lab Writing Workshops, based in New York City, has been running writing workshops for 15 years and is an award-winning journalist and editor. She is the author of the memoir, Sweet Survival: Tales of Cooking & Coping, and has helped students and editing clients publish memoirs, novels, self-help books, short stories and personal essays in publications and publishing houses including The New York Times, Yale Review, Huffington Post, Eat Darling Eat, the Forward, the Girlfriend, HerStry, Kveller, Pennsylvania Gazette, Random House, SheWrites Press, Wiley and a range of literary magazines.

A former editor at Bloomberg Businessweek, Laura is a winner of the Clarion Award and the Newspaper Guild's Page One Award for Labor Reporting and has an MFA in fiction from Columbia University. She works closely with writers, helping them to find the hearts of their stories and then revising and expanding them until they are ready for publication.
