Our first live event in 20 months!

“I carried grief like that black dress, and there were days that it was pressed into the back of the closet, and there were times I wore it many days in a row.”

DIANE ZINNA

Happy November! Do you feel the chill in the air? In Central Park, the wind is blowing, and the acorns and leaves are crunching beneath our feet. Today, Tuesday, November 2, is Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos. This coming Sunday, November 7, is is the 50th anniversary of the NYC Marathon and Thursday, November 25, is Thanksgiving. Last week, we put on our masks and went to see Alexander Chee interview Elizabeth Strout about her new novel, Oh William!, at Symphony Space. J. Smith-Cameron beautifully read an excerpt from Strout’s book. It was the first live event we’d been to in twenty months it made us want to head inside and write and read. Dig in and join us.

If you haven’t checked out Writers @ Work, you’re missing out. We’re talking to writers about their writing processes and books they love. Check out our fifth Q&A with Diana Zinna, author of The All-Night Sun, below. Are you enjoying it so far? Which response has inspired you most?
